Left vs Right - What does this mean

In a hand-specific setup, here's how we typically lay things out:

  • Tool Bag (dominant hand side): Carries your main tools (hammer, knife, pencil).
  • Fastener Bag (opposite side): Holds nails, square, bits, etc.

So...

  • If you're Right-handed: Tool Bag on your Right, Fastener Bag on your Left

A streamlined belt system built for comfort and performance. This set features our FatLip™ Bag design with 10" deep industrial nylon bags, reinforced with leather on the base and corners for long-term durability. The belt uses our original buscadero-style shape, updated with high-density neoprene, rugged nylon, and leather reinforcements for a supportive, flexible fit.

Includes a 2-in-1 Tool & Hammer Holder in the rear and an Oxy™ Tool Shield for sharp tool protection.

The Adjust-to-Fit™ system allows quick sizing changes to fit waist sizes 32" to 41", making it ideal for accommodating seasonal gear shifts.

Nylon Gear Care - Keep your nylon tool gear in top shape.

  • Brush off jobsite grit daily, and wipe down with a damp cloth as needed, and let it air dry.
  • Occasionally shake out debris from the inside.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure and heavy chemical cleaners.
  • For stubborn grime, use mild soap and water.
  • Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.

Abrasions or small tear repair -

Nylon components on tool bags—like webbing or trim—are tough but not indestructible. If you notice any abrasions or small tears, it's important to act early before they spread and worsen.

  • Use a nylon repair tape or fabric patch (such as Tenacious Tape or Gear Aid) to seal the area. Super Glue will do the trick in a pinch on small areas.
  • Make sure the surface is clean and dry before applying the patch.
  • For added strength, you can stitch over the damaged area with heavy-duty thread.

* Catching minor damage early can prevent it from becoming irreparable, especially in high-stress areas like seams, corners, or straps.

* Nylon Tool Bag Repair Policy -

Occidental Leather does not offer repairs on nylon tool bags due to the structural limitations of woven synthetic fibers. When ballistic nylon becomes torn or frayed, the integrity of the weave is compromised. Unlike leather, nylon cannot be re-stitched or restored to its original strength—only surface patching is possible. Because we do not provide patching services, replacement is recommended for compromised components to ensure continued safety and performance.

We're happy to accept returns on new, unused, and resalable items. Please try on your belt at home, before wearing it to the jobsite. We cannot accept returns on used, worn or tool scuffed products.

  • Items must be returned in new, unused, and resalable condition, along with a valid RGA (Returned Goods Authorization).
  • Please contact us within 15 days of receiving your order to request a return.
  • Occidental is not responsible for shipping costs associated with returns or exchanges (unless it was our goof-up).
  • Refunds can only be made back to the original form of payment on the order.
  • A $25 restocking charge may be imposed on certain returns.

Best you can get

These Bags have been the same for a while wish some improvements would be made, rear hammer knife holder really only works for the hammer and will pull your pants down if you kneel down and stand up a lot. I wish there was somewhere to hang a nail gun that was secure on the bags or didn’t feel like it lead to unnecessary ware. Over all they are the best bags you can get though

Depending on your workflow, you might find more comfort and flexibility by swapping in a different hammer holder—like the Hammer Sleeve (B5118K) for a snug, low swing carry, the Classic Hammer Holder (B5012), or the High Mount Hammer Holder (5059) if you want to keep things higher and out of the way when kneeling.

As for the nail gun, a lot of pros like to hang it from the leather hammer loop on the side of the tool bag. It’s an underrated option—it won’t rattle like metal-on-metal, and it’s surprisingly durable for supporting heavier tools without extra wear.

If you ever want help dialing in your setup further, we’re here for it, Sometimes a few small tweaks make a big difference.

Plenty of room

Huge storage capacity and good organization. These bags are buckets, great for framing, although when I'm not framing I usually wear a more compact occidental belt. Very comfortable and durable
