All About the HD 3" Ranger Leather Work Belt

Built for strength and daily performance, the HD 3" Ranger Work Belt is the foundation of a professional tool carry system. The 3" wide main belt distributes the weight of tool and fastener bags evenly across the lower back and hips for lasting comfort and support. A 2" wide tongue and loop—threads through your tool bags and accessories. Crafted from premium 12–14 oz. Bridle leather, this belt is edge-stitched for long-term durability and a clean, finished look.

Leather Gear Care

Our leather is custom-tanned to handle tough, outdoor conditions. However, tough gear still deserves smart upkeep.

  • Brush off jobsite grit daily, and wipe down with a damp rag when things get muddy.
  • Occasionally shake out the debris from inside bags and pouches.
  • For deeper grime, use mild soap and water—no bleach, no harsh solvents. Then let it dry naturally.
  • For occasional cleaning maintenance—about once a year—use saddle soap, a leather cleaner, or mild soap and warm water. Then apply a small amount of non-oil-based leather conditioner. We recommend our Rugged Service Cream.
  • Store dry, out of direct sun, and your Occidental Leather gear will outlast the job.

* Avoid oil-based products, as they can weaken stitching and shorten the life of the leather.

* Always wipe off mud, concrete, or other drying compounds with a damp cloth before it dries, as these materials can draw out the leather’s natural oils

  • All orders ship from our workshop in northern California within 1-2 working days after you place your order.

Please note that our pricing does not include VAT, import tariffs and customs duties. These will be collected by the courier upon delivery. Customer is responsible for these fees and any return shipping/customs charges if the delivery is refused.

We're happy to accept returns on new, unused, and resalable items. Please try on your belt at home, before wearing it to the jobsite. We cannot accept returns on used, worn or tool scuffed products.

  • Items must be returned in new, unused, and resalable condition, along with a valid RGA (Returned Goods Authorization).
  • Please contact us within 15 days of receiving your order to request a return.
  • Occidental is not responsible for shipping costs associated with returns or exchanges (unless it was our goof-up).
  • Refunds can only be made back to the original form of payment on the order.
  • A $25 restocking charge may be imposed on certain returns.

I love this belt sturdy but comfortable and stays where you need it. Pairs very nice with the sheep hip pads. I wear a pant size 32 and the medium belt fits like a glove with room to customize fit. The hip pads fit perfect with my load out on the medium belt. You'll have this belt for life if you take care of it

Excellent quality workmanship! Just for the masses , go extra sizing onthe belt length .. I have 34” waist and the belt is Medium.. I should have gotten large .. it works but I’m at the end of the holes .

Its significantly better than the belt I had before. Significantly more sturdy as well and its very comfortable. However the quality wasn't as good as I expected, the part of the belt with the holes were slightly frayed on the sides, and the front side was wrinkling. I did expect a lot more especially for occidental leather, but other than that, the belt functions well.

Regarding the fraying at the holes and the surface wrinkling you noticed: that can come down to natural variation in the particular hide, or the specific area of the hide the belt was cut from. These characteristics are cosmetic in nature and don’t affect the strength, durability, or performance of the belt. Leather is a natural material, and some variation is unavoidable, even within premium hides.
