In a hand-specific setup, here's how we typically lay things out:
- Tool Bag (dominant hand side): Carries your main tools (hammer, knife, pencil).
- Fastener Bag (opposite side): Holds nails, square, bits, etc.
So...
- If you're Right-handed: Tool Bag on your Right, Fastener Bag on your Left
- If you're Left-handed: Tool Bag on your Left, Fastener Bag on your Right
How to Size Your Occidental Leather Tool Belt
Don't use your pants waist size! Measure your belt as instructed below.
1 - The best way to get the right size is to measure the Tool Belt you currently wear exactly where you wear it and with the the work clothes you normally wear.
2 - Put the belt on where you would normally wear your tool belt and over your normal work clothes. Note which hole you use to fasten the belt.
3 - Take the belt off, lay it flat and measure from the end of the buckle to the hole you used.
That measurement is your belt size. Compare your measurement to our size chart below.
Tips:
✓ If you don’t have a tool belt, borrow one from a coworker (or you can use a cloth tape measure or length of rope).
✓ If you're between sizes, size up for the best fit.
✓ Do not use your pants waist size!!
✓ Remember, you wear your rig over your pants, regular belt, shirt, hoodie, etc. Size your belt for your work habits.
Our belts are designed to buckle at the midpoint hole, allowing 4" of adjustment in either direction for a secure and customizable fit.

Why not use pant size?
- Pants are made with materials that stretch to fit you. Our belts will form to you over time but are not "stretchy".
- Clothing sizes vary, so a 36” skinny jean fits differently from a 36” relaxed fit.
- Tool Belts are worn over your clothing; pants, regular belt, shirt, hoodie, etc.
- Tool belts usually need to be 3”-7” larger than your waist size, depending on how you wear them.

International Shipping:
Please note that our pricing does not include VAT, import tariffs and customs duties. These will be collected by the courier upon delivery. Customer is responsible for these fees and any return shipping/customs charges if the delivery is refused.
We're happy to accept returns on new, unused, and resalable items. Please try on your belt at home, before wearing it to the jobsite. We cannot accept returns on used, worn or tool scuffed products.
- Items must be returned in new, unused, and resalable condition, along with a valid RGA (Returned Goods Authorization).
- Please contact us within 15 days of receiving your order to request a return.
- Occidental is not responsible for shipping costs associated with returns or exchanges (unless it was our goof-up).
- Refunds can only be made back to the original form of payment on the order.
- A $25 restocking charge may be imposed on certain returns.

FatLip™ Tool Belt Setup
This is my second bag, and I honestly really like how it fits around my waist without hurting me. I recommend them to anyone who wants to buy one; they're a bit expensive, but they'll last you a long time.
I never realized how beneficial a true left handed set of bags would be. The cheap Lowe’s bags I used before were all right handed, so I ended up carrying tools in the faster bag and fasteners in the tool bag. I had to make it work, and never thought much of it. Finally decided to pay big money for a nice set and having a true left handed set up is a game changer. I had an uncomfortable week or two while the belt was breaking in but now they feel like home. Everything feels very high quality and I’m sure it will last me for years. Added a hammer sleeve, cats paw sleeve, xxl phone holster, a clip on loop, and a pair of stronghold light suspenders. I also have a holstery clip on the small leather patch on the back of the tool pouch for my impact gun. (Best accessory ever) Every tool I carry has a specific place, and I can grab what I want without even thinking about it. I’m a pole barn builder by trade, and I find it especially nice to have three places for different fasteners. 20d nails, 16d nails, and truss lock screws while framing. 2in screws, 1in screws, and pivys (galvanized trim nails) while running steel or trim. The only problem I have found is I’m running out of room on the belt. I want to add a holster for my snips and maybe a nail strip holder but there is physically not enough space on the belt. But that might be due to me wearing a medium sized belt and being a pretty thin guy. My next investment might be a comfort belt but so far I’m extremely pleased with this set up.

It’s a very good quality belt but it’s pretty heavy once all my tools are in it. If you’re looking for a lighter tool belt definitely go with the oxilites however this one has so much room for tools. The pockets are deep and stay open. Super comfortable belt and definitely worth the price.
Great quality! Showed up right away! I wish the tape measure holder fit my 40ft Fatmax and that I had ordered a large instead of the medium.
