All About the Hip Pads with Sheepskin

These thick-pile, sheepskin lined hip pads slide onto your tool belt and sit under your tool bags. They are built from thick harness leather and lined with ¾"+ thick wool pads, with natural sheepskin for maximum comfort when you carry a full setup all day. Sold as a pair.

They are slightly lighter in weight than our full belt liner (5005), so they suit anyone who wants hip cushioning without the extra bulk.

The belt slots accept tool belts up to 3" wide. The pads add thickness between you and your belt, so the belt has to wrap a little farther around you. Plan on 1 to 2 inches of extra belt length. The hip area between the belt slots measures 10" x 6" (w x h).

Handmade in USA!

Compatibility Note: Hip Pads are not compatible with:
- All Adjust-to-Fit systems

Leather Gear Care

Our leather is custom-tanned to handle tough, outdoor conditions. However, tough gear still deserves smart upkeep.

  • Brush off jobsite grit daily, and wipe down with a damp rag when things get muddy.
  • Occasionally shake out the debris from inside bags and pouches.
  • For deeper grime, use mild soap and water—no bleach, no harsh solvents. Then let it dry naturally.
  • For occasional cleaning maintenance—about once a year—use saddle soap, a leather cleaner, or mild soap and warm water. Then apply a small amount of non-oil-based leather conditioner. We recommend our Rugged Service Cream.
  • Store dry, out of direct sun, and your Occidental Leather gear will outlast the job.

* Avoid oil-based products, as they can weaken stitching and shorten the life of the leather.

* Always wipe off mud, concrete, or other drying compounds with a damp cloth before it dries, as these materials can draw out the leather’s natural oils

Great for sore hips

I often wear my bags all day long. I was starting to experience hip pain from wearing my bags all day. With these hip pads I have gone a couple hard weeks with no hip pain! I don’t see any down sides with having these pads attached to my belt what so ever.

Study and comfortable.

Thought these might be a bit much for summer. Gladi pulled the trigger though, belt feels so much better with these on.

These make heavier weights more comfortable and they are not hot like I thought they would be

I recently added these to my OL set up and I only regret not getting them sooner. My biggest concern was that they would be too hot, but we are in a New England heat wave right now and this is not an issue. As a 25+ year Occidental wearer, these are very comfortable, help distribute the load, and are well worth it.
