All About the Stronghold Suspension System

The 5055 Stronghold® Suspenders are built for all-day comfort, weight distribution, and rig stability. Featuring a padded, contoured yoke lined with moisture-wicking Dri-Lex®, these suspenders relieve hip and lower back strain while keeping straps secure across your shoulders.

Designed with tool-friendly chest pockets, an adjustable fit, and a heavy-duty D-ring for hanging up your rig. Ideal for professionals who need serious support without compromising comfort.

Stronghold® Suspension System
  • Even Load Distribution – Relieves hip and lower back strain by evenly distributing weight
  • Secure Fit – Designed to keep straps in place and prevent them from wandering off your shoulders.
  • Contoured Padded Yoke – Comfortable fit with Dri-Lex® lining to wick sweat
  • Easy On-Off: Quickly release the adjustable chest strap and hang up your whole rig using the heavy-duty “D” ring in the center of the yoke
  • Size Guidance: In general… Choose Small if 5'6" or under. Add 5044 Suspender Extension Kit if 6'2" or taller. However, be sure to check the size guide and go off the measurements of your torso to get the best fit.

Leather Gear Care

Our leather is custom-tanned to handle tough, outdoor conditions. However, tough gear still deserves smart upkeep.

  • Brush off jobsite grit daily, and wipe down with a damp rag when things get muddy.
  • Occasionally shake out the debris from inside bags and pouches.
  • For deeper grime, use mild soap and water—no bleach, no harsh solvents. Then let it dry naturally.
  • For occasional cleaning maintenance—about once a year—use saddle soap, a leather cleaner, or mild soap and warm water. Then apply a small amount of non-oil-based leather conditioner. We recommend our Rugged Service Cream.
  • Store dry, out of direct sun, and your Occidental Leather gear will outlast the job.

* Avoid oil-based products, as they can weaken stitching and shorten the life of the leather.

* Always wipe off mud, concrete, or other drying compounds with a damp cloth before it dries, as these materials can draw out the leather’s natural oils

  • All orders ship from our workshop in northern California within 1-2 working days after you place your order.
  • We'll send you a tracking number by email once your order ships.

  • International Shipping: We ship to Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
  • Please note that our pricing does not include VAT and customs duties. These will be collected by the courier.

We're happy to accept returns on new, unused, and resalable items. Please try on your belt at home, before wearing it to the jobsite. We cannot accept returns on used, worn or tool scuffed products.

  • Items must be returned in new, unused, and resalable condition, along with a valid RGA (Returned Goods Authorization).
  • Please contact us within 15 days of receiving your order to request a return.
  • Occidental is not responsible for shipping costs associated with returns or exchanges (unless it was our goof-up).
  • Refunds can only be made back to the original form of payment on the order.
  • A $25 restocking charge may be imposed on certain returns.

Exchanges: To exchange an order, return your item for a refund following the procedures listed above. Then purchase the new/exchange item(s) at your convenience. If you need help with the new/exchange order, let us know. We are happy to help.
